“Cossack. Sketch” is a large sketch (130 × 90 cm) created with acrylic and pencil on canvas in 2026. At the center of the composition is the figure of a Cossack — a symbol of Ukrainian courage, freedom, and resilience. Expressive acrylic surfaces are combined with precise pencil lines, emphasizing the character’s inner strength and tension.
At the top of the artwork is an inscription with Taras Shevchenko’s quote: “Fight – and you shall overcome.” This phrase gives the piece a clear moral and national dimension, turning it into not only a portrait but also a visual manifesto of the Ukrainian people’s unbreakable spirit.
